Capturing the ethereal beauty of South African Strelitzia reginae, also known as the crane flower or bird of paradise flower! As I focused my lens on this stunning flowering plant, I couldn't help but be in awe of its vibrant colours and unique shape. It's no wonder it's a favourite among gardeners and flower enthusiasts worldwide.
But here's where the magic truly unfolds! When I introduced ultraviolet light, the flowers revealed their hidden secret. Whilst the orange sepals remained the same under UV the blue petal came alive, emitting a mesmerizing glow of vibrant fluorescence.
I couldn't resist capturing this breath-taking transformation. A special thanks to my fellow photographer Karl (who goes by the Instagram handle https://lnkd.in/e4bnPgBt) who has loaned me his Laowa 100mm lens to capture the beauty in extra sharp minute detail. Every time I moved closer the UV-powered enchantment intensified. Now, I invite you to join me in embracing the captivating beauty of the crane flower and witness its surreal metamorphosis. It's an experience that has left me quite spellbound. Hopefully you too!
